Interior Tuesday: Eisley’s Room

I realized today as I was thinking about what to post, that I never showed before and after’s of my daughter’s nursery! We’re going to do some changing soon, since it’s about time for her to be in a “big-girl bed” but for now, this is what it looks like. I’ve shown a little of it with this post but not the whole story.

So here we go:

Eisley’s room was probably the…creepiest one. Unless you like dolls. Then it’s totally normal and un-creepy, but for me…creeptastic. Anyway, see for yourself!

That wall of dolls = nightmares. I won’t bring up the blue carpet or crazy wallpaper.

Basically her nursery looked just like this in our old house, minus the striped wall, hardwood floors and rug. And if you’ll notice, this is pre-picture frame breakage. The big “E” was a cardboard letter from JoAnns, which I mod-podged some scrapbook paper too. So fun and easy.

Those doors came right off. After painting over the blue trim in the rest of the room, I decided we could do without the closet doors. They are currently residing in the garage thankyouverymuch.

And now:

I’m not sure if she has enough clothes.

Sorry my pictures are terrible. I need a better camera. But you get the idea. While I love this room, I’m ready for a change. I found this rug from Feizy and am lusting after an entire room based on this color scheme:

And how cute are these prints?

Soon, my friends, soon. I’m so scared to transition her to a big girl bed, but if it means I get to redesign a room, I think it’ll be worth it!

That’s it for today!

Oh and I’ve got the beginnings of an idea in my head for a giveaway…stay tuned.

  1. Ah, transition to a big bed is a huge step! What an improvement in those rooms! If I had a house, I would hire you. I think I've told you that like 8 times now.

  2. How cute is that room? I love it!! You need to come decorate my house! lol :)

  3. I love her room! You are just like me, re-decorating all the time! I love that rug, it is the perfect piece to pull from. I can't wait to see what you do :)

  4. you did a phenomenal job kadie!!! love the stripes. can you post a short bit with tips on how to paint the stripes, because i am thinking i want to do these in the guest bedroom on a wall.

  5. @Michelle, you better let me know as SOON as you get a house! I'd LOVE to help you out!
@Chantele, the same goes for you too! My main focus is usually commercial, but I love to help people with their homes as well.
@Danielle, I have so many ideas in my head its ridiculous. I may need to have you come help me upholster a headboard soon...just sayin'
@L thank you so much! I would be happy to post about stripe painting. I will do that soon. The truth is, with the right equipment, it's a lot easier than you'd think!

  6. It looks fantastic! I'm so not good at decorating. :(

  7. I want to learn how to do the stripes too. Amazingly enough - it's something I haven't tried yet! Good work.
